A Conservative Take on Florida and U.S. Politics

Gratitude for Religious Freedom

The first words of the Bill of Rights are simple yet profound:  “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof…”  These words codify the religious freedom the Pilgrims sought in the New World.  They solidify the resolve to tolerate and respect the views of others.  These words crystallize the yearning of our forefathers to worship Almighty God according to the dictates of their own conscience.  We are so blessed to live in a land of religious liberty where Christians, Jews, Muslims, and innumerable other religious creeds can worship how, where, or what they may.

As my family celebrated Easter yesterday, we remembered the life and example of the Savior Jesus Christ, His incomparable sacrifice in our behalf, and His triumphant victory over death and hell.  I believe that the Son of God literally rose from the grave on the third day and appeared to His disciples.  I believe the sacred record of the scriptures and I feel richly blessed to live in a land where I can publicly proclaim the glorious truth:  HE LIVES!!!
